Collection: Mr Sly

Mr. Sly, originally from Liverpool, embarked on extensive travels that cultivated his appreciation for urban and street art from various cultures around the globe, significantly shaping his artistic journey and expanding his cultural understanding. His initial venture into the art scene was motivated by the 1980s band Frankie Goes to Hollywood, particularly their memorable t-shirts associated with the hit song "Relax."

As his fascination with art deepened, he encountered the works of Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali, both of whom played a pivotal role in his development as a young artist. Identifying himself as an Urban Pop Artist, he draws inspiration from music, especially pop songs, with each piece of art intricately linked to a specific song, artist, or both. This connection is emphasized through the incorporation of quotations and lyrics within his works; his narrative voice is pronounced, and he consistently aims to convey a story inspired by those lyrics.

By reimagining iconic figures from history and placing them prominently in his art, he expresses a sentiment of bringing them into a contemporary context. Two decades later, his creations are showcased in galleries throughout the UK, Europe, and the United States, with notable clients such as Chelsea Football Club, L’Oreal, and Redken. His work has garnered significant media attention, and he has made a notable impression on the celebrity scene, with collectors including Paris Hilton, David Haye, and Adee Phelan.
