Collection: Michiel Folkers

Michiel Folkers, also known as Gieler, began his exploration of graffiti in the late 1990s. For several years, he actively engaged in the art of spray painting letters. As he matured and grew weary of the conflicts associated with this pursuit, his focus gradually shifted from graffiti to street art. The more approachable and less illicit nature of street art appealed to Michiel, in contrast to graffiti. Additionally, he found that utilizing stencils allowed for greater detail and efficiency in his work.

Currently, Michiel operates from his studio located in the heart of Amsterdam. In 2017, he expanded his artistic endeavours to include various cities around the globe, incorporating foreign posters into his creations. His aspirations for the near future involve traveling to numerous countries to capture the unique street atmospheres on canvas.
