Michael Abrams
Michael became a member of Buckingham Fine Art several years ago as his reputation began to flourish, and he has since experienced a significant demand for both his limited edition works and original creations. Mr. Ted, characterized by his bowler hat, introduces an engaging narrative filled with intrigue, romance, and humour for his numerous fans. He also bears a striking resemblance to the beloved 70s cartoon character 'Mr. Bens.'
Abrams was enthusiastic for his preferred subject to commence and meticulously ensured that all necessary materials were prepared prior to each lesson. This preparation allowed him to concentrate entirely on his artistic endeavours without the need to gather supplies or wait for his peers. Upon transferring to his comprehensive school in Leeds, Abrams found that art was not particularly esteemed or promoted, which played a role in his unsuccessful bid for admission to an art college after graduating in 1978. For the subsequent ten years, Abrams worked as a forklift operator to sustain himself while also engaging in freelance work as a card designer for prominent publishing firms. In 1990, he resolved to dedicate himself to a full-time career in art, determined to seize every opportunity.
Abrams is a seasoned artist with two decades of experience in the field. A self-taught individual, he is best recognized for his designs of figurines and ceramics in Thailand, in addition to exhibiting his work in New York. In 2010, the artist affiliated himself with Washington Green, showcasing a collection of whimsical and imaginative animal paintings. His aspiration is for his artwork to foster a connection between pet owners and their beloved animals. This goal serves as a continual source of inspiration for his creative process. Abrams draws significant influence from a wide array of artists, including Terry Gilliam, Ralph Steadman, David Hockney, Pablo Picasso, and Beatrix Potter.
