Collection: Gareth Tristan Evans

Gareth is a rising mixed media artist who was born in Singapore, raised in a secluded Welsh valley, and currently lives in Macclesfield. His work is gaining popularity among contemporary art collectors in the UK and around the world.

Using a variety of techniques ranging from photography to digital to conventional pen and brush, his work is influenced by childhood recollections, vintage textiles, street art, and an obsessive attention to detail. Unconstrained by the requirement to adhere to existing codes, he uses whatever talents and resources are required to produce the desired outcome.

His most recent series, Urban Geisha, draws on his influences and material interests to create contemporary copies of classic Geisha. His interest in Eastern symbolism and imagery, as well as his inspiration from street art, are clear. Each item is meticulously made with layers of gold leaf, acrylics, Hanko stamps, Japanese postage stamps, and 3D relief tiles woven into the artwork.
