Danielle O'Connor Akiyama
Toronto-based Canadian fine artist Danielle O'Conner Akiyama has been painting for over thirty years. An ex-therapist who studied Art Therapy- O'Conner Akiyama understands the profound effect that art has on people and has helped people of numerous ages to improve themselves as people through the use and enjoyment of art. Although a now full-time artist- O'Conner Akiyama's works have been largely influenced during her time as a therapist. Her works have received a variety of awards and are now distributed widely all over the globe.
Due to studying Sumi-e- O'Conner Akiyama's works take on a very unique blend of old-world Asian inkwork styles and new styles reminiscent of the western old masters. Her use of colour is greatly varied- casting hot reds to deep cool blues within her works as well as good use of strong brush strokes and contrasting colours to give a life to all of her unique pieces.
