John Horsewell
John Horsewell, hailing from Essex, discovered his passion for art early in life, a natural inclination given that his parents and grandfather were all artists. While in school, he tried his hand at various media but found that oil paints matched his artistic approach perfectly, allowing him to capture the interplay of light and shadow that fascinated him. After graduating, Horsewell ventured into the interior design field while dedicating his free time to painting.
His works gained recognition through local exhibitions, eventually reaching broader audiences in Manchester, Birmingham, and London. By 1978, he embraced his calling and committed to painting full-time, leading to significant success. Horsewell often draws inspiration from his favorite landscapes, capturing everything from the sunlit vistas of Southern Europe to the serene beaches of Florida, where he often spends his time. Using both brushes and palette knives, he creates paintings with a unique texture that reflects his joy for the places he depicts, inviting viewers to experience those moments alongside him.
Today, from his studio on the border of Essex and Suffolk, Horsewell continues to celebrate the natural beauty around him, with his technique constantly evolving.
