Born in Bedfordshire, England, in 1958 Simon Bull was educated at Ripon and Croydon before going to art schools in Cheltenham and Leeds. He has rapidly become one of England''s most popular printmakers with an international reputation for his etchings and watercolours.
The first of his many one man exhibitions was held at the Hong Kong Hotel, Hong Kong in 1976. Since then his work has been exhibited at the important Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the Mall Galleries, Olympia and the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
It may only be some yellow lichen on a rock, but that is where the excitement for me starts.
"I find that frequent travel to other countries, with their different qualities of light, enables me to see with fresh eyes the gems that lie on my doorstep".
Simon now lives in the Lake District with his wife Joanna and their three children. They have converted a former farm hose and barn into the family home and studio.
