Tom Butler Art

In 2004, Tom and his wife took a holiday in the South of France and visited Uzès. Tom was mesmerised by the city's beauty - parasols and awnings amidst weathered stone buildings with shuttered facades and crumbling masonry, as well as old hand-painted adverts on the sides of buildings. Explaining his attraction to text in paintings now, he says: "Maybe this is where it began. As soon as I returned I set about recreating what I'd experienced; my artwork proved successful with local galleries and Tom Butler the artist was born!"
