Reuben Colley

Reuben Colley''s artistic talent was recognised at secondary school, where he was awarded an astonishing 100% in his art GCSE. He went on to study ''A'' level art, gaining an A grade in this subject (although failing his others due to the amount of time spent in the art block!) Reuben then moved to Bournville Art College, where he studied for a BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design, specialising in Fine Art, from 1994-95. He was awarded a BA Hons 2 (i) in Fine Art from the University of Wolverhampton in 1998. Since graduating, Reuben has become recognised as one of the leading talents in the contemporary art world. He joined Washington Green as an artist in Autumn 1999 and since then has had numerous originals published as limited editions and silkscreens. His originals have also been exhibited at the Spring and Autumn Fairs, selling out within the first day. Since becoming a full-time artist in 2000, Reuben has enjoyed sell-out success of his work, with his oil originals exhibited around the country to great acclaim. He is currently preparing for his first major one-man show to be held at the Halcyon Gallery in November 2001, which will focus on his reflections of Birmingham. Earlier this year, he also received the prestigious ''Up and Coming Published Award'' from the Fine Art Trade Guild.
