Michael Abrams Prints

Michael joined Buckingham Fine Art a few years ago as his star began to grow and he has since seen a high demand for his limited edition pieces as well as original artwork.

Mr Ted, the figure in the bowler hat, sets the scene for a captivating tale of intrigue, romance, and amusement for his countless admirers! Not to mention, he is highly reminiscent of 70s cartoon idol 'Mr Bens'.

Abrams was eager for his favourite subject to start, and took care to ensure that all materials were in place before each lesson. This allowed him to focus solely on his artwork without having to gather supplies himself or wait for his classmates.

When Abrams moved to his comprehensive school in Leeds, art was not highly valued or encouraged which contributed to his unsuccessful attempt to secure a place at an art college when he left school in 1978.

For the next decade, Abrams worked as a forklift driver to support himself and also freelanced as a card designer for major publishing companies. In 1990, Abrams made the decision to pursue his career in art full-time, determined not to miss out on any opportunities.

Abrams is a professional artist who has been in the business for two decades. An autodidact, he is most well known for designing figurines and ceramics in Thailand, as well as showcasing his work in New York.

In 2010, the artist joined Washington Green, presenting an array of quirky, imaginative animal paintings. His goal is for his artwork to evoke an owner's connection with their own pet. This ambition fuels the artist's creativity and continues to drive him.

Abrams draws great inspiration from a diverse variety of artists including Terry Gillam, Ralph Steadman, David Hockney, Pablo Picasso and Beatrix Potter.
