Karen Wallis

Painting in oils using several glazes of thin paint- overlaid with impasto; she creates hazy and evocative images. The concept of combining fine art and abstract elements results in images which are traditional in manner but have a very contemporary edge.

Karen paints her models with soft detail and then sets them in imaginary space- with a feeling of drifting light and air- which allows the viewer to create their own world.

Her work has been reproduced as Limited Edition prints in a number of formats- including Hand Embellished giclee boxed canvases .Originals are available.

Karen was born in Yorkshire and has an honours degree in Interior Design. Her interest in modern interiors and colour palettes is often reflected in her work. Her love of fine art led to a career in painting. Her work is in many UK and international collections

Karen lives in an old parsonage in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds with her husband- who is also an artist. Here peace and tranquillity enhance her imagination and creativity. As well as painting- she is currently writing a novel and plays squash and tennis
